Commission Artwork
\ How can I purchase your paintings?

You have the option of commissioning me to do a custom painting of your choice or purchasing a painting in person from my studio, or you can buy it directly from my website.
​
There is an additional cost for shipping the painting. Orders are mostly packed and shipped within 5 business days. Depending on your location, it may take another 7 to 10 days or sometimes longer for you to receive the painting. Once the order has been shipped, you will be provided with a shipment tracking number.

At present, there is no shipping option outside the USA.

\ How does commission artwork work?
​
Please contact me and discuss your budget, describe your artwork, and we can set up a completion date. More importantly, your commission artwork is a way to support my cause. A substantial portion of the proceeds from the sales of my paintings are donated to support (givetheneedy.org).

\ How do I clarify my requirements?
​
Providing reference images is a great way to communicate to share your requirements. It would be helpful to know in advance the size of the painting, plus color and style.
If you would like to see what your painting would look like on your wall, you can send me an image of the room you plan to hang it in, and I can do a mock-up for you to look at. Depending on how you like it, we can discuss any changes if required.

\ Is there a contract and deposit before I commission you to do a painting for me?
​
Yes, there is a contract with the client stating everything in detail, before the work is accepted. Standard commission terms call for a 50% payment upon signing, and 50% upon completion.

\ What is the timeframe for a painting to be completed?
​
Depending on my workload, I will give you a timeframe accordingly.

\ Is there a refund or return for a commission painting?
​
I hope you will be happy with the purchase of my painting and enjoy it on your wall. If you are not completely satisfied with what you have received, please contact me within 2 days of receiving the piece, and we can process a return, with a nonrefundable return fee of 25% of the cost of the painting.

When agreed upon a return, you are responsible for packing and returning delivery at your cost or return it in person to my studio.
​
Once safely returned, we will make sure the painting is intact in the original form. You will then receive a refund for the remainder within 14 days.
​
My art is original and painted by hand; it may have some imperfections, which is what makes it one of a kind. The image you see online may show slight variations in color when viewing. Any variation between the image represented and the actual artwork is the norm. Inconsistencies like that will not be a valid reason for return.

\ Do I get a Certificate for the painting?
​
Yes, you get an authentic certificate with all the details related to the painting.
​
\ Can my painting be framed?
​
Most of my paintings are on a gallery wrap canvas with the sides painted, ready to hang on the wall. If you like it framed, I can frame it for you at an additional cost.

\ I like a painting in your art gallery, but it is sold.
​
If you see something you like, feel free to send me a message. I can certainly paint something similar, custom to your taste.

\ What are my ownership rights to purchase an original painting from the shop online?
​
When an artist creates a painting, the artist owns both the copyright in the artwork, and the physical artwork. Ownership of copyright is an intellectual property right. Ownership of the physical artwork is a personal property right. A sale of the physical artwork does not transfer the copyrights in the artwork.
​
You can resell the original artwork, but the artist still owns the copyright, unless you have a written license. Therefore, you cannot resell digital images or prints of it.
Investing in art and then reselling it if needed, is a way to make money, when the value goes up.
​
With photographs and other types of artworks, US copyright law goes into effect immediately – with or without a registration mark. Even if an artist sells their artwork, they own the copyright to it. The buyer cannot make prints or sell copies of them without written permission.
​
The artist has the right to sell limited edition prints of an original artwork that has already been sold.
​
